White Mountain Tub SS Replacement Rings

Due to the many requests for replacement rings, we have asked one of our Amish shops to make a replacement ring set of 3 in ¼” stainless steel. Stainless Steel is always the most expensive way to go but in the long term, it is the only way to go considering they will be continuously exposed to salt water. Funny that the makers of White Mountain never figured that out as well as the cast iron tub center. Perhaps they did as a form of planned obsolescence.

We don’t include the staples to fasten them in place. Ideally, you will need an electrician’s crown staple gun that shoots a round top staple for installing CATV and Internet cables to fasten the rings as they were done in the factory. You can use small staples from the hardware store but should have a backer hammer on the opposite side of the tub to absorb the impact of hammering on the outside. These old tubs have very thin splines between the barrel staves and can easily break.

The tub in the picture was very dry and that is the ideal time to replace the rings. As the tub is soaked it will expand and fill in the gaps against the new rings.

It is best to wrap both ends of your tub with duct tape to hold the wooden staves in place and then carefully remove the staples and old rings. Measure your old rings to verify that our set will fit.

We have a small, limited supply of them so please be patient if we must get more made thus, you should expect up to 3-4 weeks for them to ship. Making them in small batches by hand, especially from Stainless Steel also costs more than making several hundred or thousands on a machine thus, the reason they are as expensive.
