Clean, Safe, Efficient Egg Collection

When a hen lays her egg, it gently rolls down the PVC-coated, heavy-gauge ½” × ½” wire-mesh floor into the forward holding tray. This rollaway design prevents hens from stepping on, cracking, or pecking at the eggs. Manure falls through the mesh into a convenient pull-out tray below, eliminating the need for messy nesting mats.

Collecting eggs is effortless—lift the front cover and the eggs are lined up, clean and ready, without disturbing any nesting hens.

Easy Manure Cleanout

Manure removal is effortless on rear-collection models. Roll a wheelbarrow up to the box, slide out the manure tray beneath the egg tray, dump, and slide it back in—no reaching inside the coop and no stress to the birds.

No Nesting Material Required

These nesting boxes include a training egg and are designed to operate without nesting material, which would prevent eggs from rolling forward properly. This reduces the risk of infestation and keeps the interior cleaner. If desired, you may start with a small amount of nesting material and gradually reduce it as the hens adapt.

• 26-gauge galvanized steel for the main structure

• 16-gauge steel for end pieces and cross supports

Simple Installation & Easy Sanitation

Each box includes metal mounting cleats that screw into a solid wall. The nest box hangs on the cleats and can be lifted off in seconds for power washing and disinfecting. This makes it far easier to maintain compared to wooden nest boxes or permanently mounted units.

Front or Rear Collection Options

For rear collection, the box mounts backward over a wall cutout, allowing hens to enter from inside the coop while you collect eggs from the outside. Rear-collection models include:

• A hinged door for the front-facing side

• Additional roost brackets

• Relocated roost bar hardware

Rear collection frees up interior coop space and provides a taller front entry ideal for larger breeds.

User-Friendly Roost Bar

The roost bar may be lifted to discourage entry when needed. On rear-collection units, the roost bar can be accessed through the hinged exterior door.

Capacity & Dimensions

One nest hole supports 5–6 hens, making four compartments suitable for most families or small flocks.

Measurements:

• Entrance: 8” tall × 11-1/4” wide

• Inside compartment: 14” tall × 12” wide × 11-1/2” deep

• Overall four-compartment unit: 49” wide × 20” tall × 17” deep

When used as rear collection, the 14" tall side becomes the front entry—ideal for bigger birds.

Ships Flat – Advanced Assembly Required

Nesting boxes ship flat and require complete assembly using 3/16" and 1/4" bolts. On a 1–10 difficulty scale, most customers rate the assembly 9–10.
Helpful tips:

• Mechanically inclined users tend to do best

• A second set of hands is recommended for long panels

• Edges may be sharp—wear gloves

• Tools needed: flat-head screwdriver, adjustable wrench(es), and a hammer for lid-hinge caps

Amish-Built & Shipped the Traditional Way

These nest boxes are handmade in a small Amish shop and shipped using their traditional UPS Logbook system rather than electronic tracking. We’ll provide an estimated ship date, and you can manually request tracking if it has not arrived within 10 days.
