With newer, energy-efficient dishwashers, people are finding that an old-fashioned drying rack is once again a necessity, as plastics and coated pans do not dry completely.
Molded slots hold a variety of plates, bowls, cups, and more dishes, while separate molded silverware cups allow adequate drying of utensils. Bottom slots and ridges eliminate the frustration of dishes sliding down as they do in traditional drying racks.
These are not wimpy imported plastic dish racks. They are substantial commercial-style dish-drying racks made by and used by large Amish families. The Amish rely solely on handwashing of dishes because they do not use automated dishwashers.
The slotted base allows water to drain out the end hanging over the edge of the sink.
We have personally used the large rack in our home and have been amazed by the number of dishes it holds. We have also been impressed with the slots and how well they hold different sizes and shapes of dishes.
