The Bike Buddy will come with a tool battery block precisely machined to fit your specified battery. The backside of the block will be left open and will need to be mounted on the mounting plate that is included in the mounting kit.
The unit will be equipped with crimp wire connectors, two hot red wires (+), and one black neutral wire (-).
The Buddy Block is equipped with a special power board to protect against overloads, overheating, shorts, and arcs.
The mounting kit includes the mounting plate, screws, and two radiator hose-style clamps with a rubber strip to securely fasten on any size bike frame tubing. On a male bike, it can be mounted on the crossbar from the seat to the handlebar stem and or on a male or female bike on the main tube that holds the seat stem. You will want a mounting position within easy reach of the two-side mounted push button switches.

The new generation LED lights afford a low amp draw on the battery pack. An 800-1200 lumen LED headlight and a LED truck clearance light pull less the 1 Amp meaning that you should be able to go up to 50 hours without a charge. The bike buddy is rated for up to a maximum of 3 amps from a 16–20-volt input. So, LED lights, and low amp draw accessories are a must. Older incandescent lights will exceed the Amp capacity.
Even though the bicycle battery-powered lights claim they produce high LED Lumens, their small flashlight-sized lenses just don’t flood out a wide area in front and side to side of the bike like a 3” round or square LED utility light used on-farm and work equipment.
Electrical conduit standoff bracket hangers come in sizes from ½”, up to 1-1/2”. They are equipped with a mounting hole and a bar clamp making them a perfect light mount holder to secure stud-mounted headlights onto handlebars and bike frames.
A low battery sensor beeps when the battery is nearing a charge. Use with tool batteries and charges that you may already have in your garage or workshop.
