General Construction and Specifications
Produce Artisan-Quality Butter at Scale

Built in the USA at an Amish factory, this churn reflects decades of dairy-equipment craftsmanship and quality control.
Food-Grade, Durable Construction for Dairy Compliance
Constructed entirely from 304 #4 brushed stainless steel (12–14 gauge) and TIG-welded for sanitary integrity, this butter churn meets guidelines from the 3-A Sanitary Standards Committees (in conjunction with USDA dairy-processing guidance)
Innovative Design for Cleanliness, Efficiency & Ease-of-Use
- Horizontal tub style with open-top design and a removable sight-glass lid for easy process monitoring and sanitation.
- Completely removable paddle and shaft assembly for full wash-out — no nooks or crevices to trap cream or buttermilk.
- The bottom drain system ensures fast, thorough buttermilk removal and a clean-out after each batch.
- Variable-speed motor optimizes churning speed for different cream consistencies, giving you control over butter texture and quality.
Built to Grow with Your Dairy or Creamery
Whether you’re producing small artisan batches or scaling up, this churn’s 25-gallon capacity offers flexibility. The heavy-duty stainless housing comes with a 10-year warranty, and the paddles/shaft/bearings each come with a 5-year warranty. At the same time, the motor/electronics are covered for one year — underscoring its long-term value.
Why Choose This Churn
If you’re serious about dairy — whether you’re running a small farm, hobby homestead, or starting an artisan dairy business — this churn bridges the gap between antiquated equipment and industrial dairy machinery. You get the reliability and longevity of commercial-grade equipment while maintaining hands-on, small-batch control over your production.
- Flexible capacity: Though rated at 25 gallons, churn capacity as low as 8 gallons can be achieved. Making it ideal for growing dairy operations. (internal dimensions inside tub: 18″ wide × 34″ long × 22″ deep; overall machine size 78L × 19″W × 25″H; weight ≈ 420 lbs.).
Designed for ease of maintenance: paddle and bearing assemblies slide out through tri-clamp connections for full-sanitation; variable speed allows both processing and wash-out without the lid.
Ideal for artisanal butter makers, micro-dairies, farm shops, and small commercial operations. Whether you’re churning creamy 30% butterfat cream or exploring flavor-infused butter batches (think honey-cinnamon, roasted garlic-pepper, herbed dill), this churn delivers premium output with efficiency and repeatability.
- Motor: Variable-speed motor with a 3-HP, 220-volt, 60-cycle, single-phase motor, rated at 10.5 Amps. A 220-volt 50 HZ motor and controller are available for international use. The churn will come without a plug for direct wire or add a plug on location.
- Construction: Main body: 304 #4 brushed food-grade stainless steel, 12-14 gauge. Lid: 16 gauge 304 stainless, sloped 2° & fitted with sight glass cap.
- Clean-out: Removable paddle/screw shaft assembly, front tri-clamp wash-out valve with elbow.
- The mixing paddles are made from 7-gauge 304 Stainless Steel, welded to a 304 Stainless Steel rod, which is then capped at each end to form a seamless, smooth, polished one-piece unit. The paddle unit is completely removable from the churn for cleaning and sanitizing. A food-grade UMMW bearing slides out the front through a food-grade sanitary tri-clamp removable connector welded on the front of the main body. The rear of the paddle unit has a Stainless-Steel plate welded to the end of the rod, which mates with a two-prong Stainless-Steel plate welded to the end of the motor shaft. When the paddles are removed, the plates are fully accessible for cleaning and sanitizing.
The motor shaft is made of stainless steel and fitted with two food-grade O-rings to prevent the cream from running back into the shaft housing, which extends through the rear of the churn body.
- Drainage/Washout: A secondary tri-clamp connector is welded to the front of the churn. This connector is equipped with a sanitary food-grade 1-1/2” butterfly valve and elbow for easier washout. The valve and elbow parts disassemble for cleaning and sanitizing. The lid is not equipped with an interlock switch to turn the machine off when the lid is open; therefore, it can be removed during washout procedures while the churn is running at a slow speed. Operator caution and safety must be exercised to keep sleeves and hands clear, and to operate the machine only at slow speeds during washout while the lid is removed.
- Lead time: Each churn is custom-built to order; manufacturing + shipping 6-8 weeks (8-10 weeks in peak season).
- Installation & Support
Upon delivery, your churn arrives in a crate and is ready for installation. It is wired for direct connect; an electrical plug-on site is optional. For international deployment, a 220 Volt 50 Hz controller and motor are available (buyers are advised to coordinate with a US-forwarding agent for overseas logistics).
The churn meets the USDA and 3-A Sanitary Standards for dairy equipment, § § 58.128, 58.316 / 58.317. Since these are only guidelines for the materials and construction of dairy equipment, you should consult your local dairy inspector for review and approval before purchasing.
