SMS Verification Example
This page explains how Cottage Craft Works uses SMS/text messages for checkout and account verification. SMS verification messages are used for authentication and security purposes only. They are not used for marketing or promotional messages.
When SMS Verification Is Used
When a customer starts checkout or attempts to access saved checkout information on cottagecraftworks.com/checkout, Cottage Craft Works may ask the customer to verify that they are the person using the account or saved checkout information.
If phone verification is needed, the checkout displays a verification prompt before sending the SMS message. The customer can choose to receive a one-time SMS approval link. The SMS is sent only in response to a customer-initiated checkout, login, account access, or account verification action.

By requesting this verification message, you agree to receive a one-time SMS/text message from Cottage Craft Works for checkout or account verification. Message and data rates may apply. Message frequency is one message per verification attempt. Reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help.

If SMS verification is unavailable, customers may use email-code verification instead when available.
Example SMS Message
Cottage Craft Works checkout: approve this request to use your saved information.
Open secure approval screen:
[Secure Approval Link]
Tap Yes, it's me or No, it's not. Expires in [Number] minutes.
Verification Approval Screen
After tapping the secure approval link, the customer is shown a verification screen asking whether the checkout or account access request was made by them.

Someone is trying to use your saved checkout information. Was this you?
If the customer did not request this, they can select “No, it's not” and return to the website only if they started checkout themselves.
SMS Consent and Message Details
- Program name: Cottage Craft Works Checkout Verification
- Purpose: Checkout, login, account access, and account verification security messages.
- Message frequency: One message per verification attempt. Additional messages are only sent if the customer requests another verification link.
- Message and data rates: Message and data rates may apply.
- Opt out: Reply STOP to opt out.
- Help: Reply HELP for help.
- Marketing: These SMS messages are not used for marketing or promotional purposes.
