Description / Pneumatic Router | 2-1/4 HP Wood Working Air Router

Elevate your woodworking projects with the 2-1/4 HP Pneumatic Air Powered Router, an industrial-strength routing solution engineered for precision, performance, and durability. Unlike traditional electric routers, this air-powered router delivers consistent torque with significantly less vibration — resulting in cleaner cuts, smoother edges, and reduced operator fatigue

Built for Heavy-Duty Use
Assembled in the USA with high-quality, American-made components, the Ox Air Motor provides rugged performance and superior wear resistance. Designed to reach up to 15,000 RPM, this router excels at trimming, dadoing, edge profiling, and intricate joinery, as demanded by hobbyists, professional woodworkers, and cabinetmakers.

Flexible Configuration Options
Choose between a fixed base for general routing tasks or upgrade to a plunge base for depth-adjustable cuts and intricate pattern work. Multiple collet options (3/8" and 1/2") ensure compatibility with a wide range of router bits — so you get the versatility of a premium woodworking router set-up in one dependable tool.

Ideal for Off-Grid & Professional Shops
Perfect for woodworkers seeking air-powered alternatives to electric routers, especially in off-grid or dust-controlled environments. Amish craftsmen have trusted pneumatic tools for decades for their reliability and longevity — thanks to simple, serviceable engineering that minimizes planned obsolescence.

Performance & Warranty
This air router requires an air supply capable of *60 CFM at 125 PSI, and includes a one-year warranty against manufacturing defects. Subject to inspection for abuse and condensation damage caused by improper airline maintenance. Whether you’re shaping hardwoods, crafting cabinetry components, or using it in industrial environments, this pneumatic router brings professional results every time. Note: These routers are designed for use in wood and fiberglass, and, in some applications, for thin aluminum or plastic membranes sandwiched around wood or foam cutouts.  We have had some manufacturing facilities using them to machine thick metal aluminum parts. This type of application, or similar applications, is outside the router's design scope and will void the warranty. Despite that, they say this is the best router they have found for their industrial applications, and either order a new one or we can supply the parts for them to repair it.

More Information

Comes equipped with a 1/2" air inlet and a bushing for 3/8" air hoses. The router will run on a 3/8" air hose; however, it is recommended to use a ½” air hose for long shop runs.

Made with engineered components for greater durability.

Select either 3/8" or 1/2" collet size using the drop-down box.

Pictured with both a fixed base and a plunge router base made by DeWalt, priced with a fixed base. Add the plunge router base using the drop-down box at the top of the page to make this a dual-use router.

You probably won’t find this anywhere else on the Internet. Cottage Craft Works specializes in Amish-made and used products for the general marketplace.

Customer Reviews

great performance
Review by DH
We started using the air routers to process veneer plywood layups about a year ago. We had been struggling with electric plunge routers failing regularly and the quality of electric plunge routers declining since the Porter Cable 7538 was obsoleted. We started using the air router and have had minimal issues with it. The performance is great and repair parts are available if needed.
