The unit will include a thermometer port for those who want to monitor temperature during cooking and filtration. Most will use this tank in the finishing process, so they don't need the thermometer. You may add a thermometer using the drop-down box.

When & How to Use

  1. Boil your sap to syrup using your evaporator or finishing pan.

  2. Bring the syrup to the proper density, then heat to the filtration temperature as recommended by maple-syrup guidelines. 

  3. Line the cone tank with a food-grade filter bag or synthetic cone filter (and pre-filter if needed).

  4. Carefully pour the hot syrup into the filter. Gravitation pulls the syrup through, leaving the sediment behind.

  5. Draw off the clear syrup from the bottom at bottling temperature and proceed to the jar or syrup container.
