Description / JD E Hit-N-Miss Stainless Steel Gas Tanks
Our Amish-made stainless steel gas tanks offer a superior replacement solution for vintage John Deere Model E hit-and-miss engines, engineered to eliminate common issues in original and reproduction steel or plastic tanks. Traditional steel tanks rust internally, trap condensation, and can clog fuel lines or ruin a show engine's appearance.Â
Why Stainless Steel Matters:
• Corrosion-resistant & rust-free — stainless steel outperforms mild steel and plastic alternatives that develop condensation and internal rust over time, especially when engines sit idle.
• Exact fit for Model E engine sizes — available for 1-1/2 HP, 3 HP, and 6 HP models with precision Amish craftsmanship.
• Durability for decades of use — heavy-duty construction ensures longevity and fewer maintenance concerns.
• Restoration-grade quality — ideal for collectors, antique engine enthusiasts, and show engines where authenticity and reliability matter most.
Designed for Hit-and-Miss Engine Enthusiasts:
Hit-and-miss engines rely on consistent fuel delivery. A compromised or rusted tank can cause fuel clogging and engine performance issues, resulting in lost time, frustration, and costly rebuilds. Our stainless steel tanks ensure a clean, rust-free fuel supply to your engine and peace of mind at every show or project.
Perfect Pair Components:
We also carry replacement fuel lines with built-in check valves, as well as other key components, for complete fuel system restoration.
More Information
It is nearly impossible to remove rust and debris from the interior of an old gas tank, making recurrence likely. The outcome is just not worth the time and money. Just one speck of rust or scale from an old gas tank can ruin your show event, costing you time and money, not to mention the embarrassment of seeing your beautiful, restored hit-n-miss engine sitting idle while the ice cream mix spoils.
The not-so-authentic plastic or fiberglass replacement tanks on the market are just not the real thing. Replacement steel tanks will eventually develop the same issues as these old engines, which typically sit for months at a time, accumulating condensation.
These Amish-made Stainless Steel tanks are exact replacements for your Model E engine.
