Horse-Drawn Vehicle Speedometer Kit
A universal horse-drawn vehicle, carriage, buggy, and digital speedometer kit.
Considering a horse-drawn vehicle only travels at a max speed of around 15 miles per hour, it’s not something carriage operators necessarily worry about getting a ticket for speeding. However, like a bicycle speedometer, it measures speed, helps the operator pace their horse(s), tracks distance traveled, and estimates arrival times.

Description / Horse-Drawn Vehicle Speedometer Kit
These kits use a Cat Eye digital bicycle computerized speedometer modified with either 7 feet of cable for the front axle or 12 feet for the rear axle. Includes wire fasteners and magnetic sensors. Select cable length using the drop-down boxes.
This is an Amish-modified kit; the extra length and adaptation to a horse-drawn vehicle significantly increase the price compared with typical bicycle models, which use only a short cable to reach the front wheel.
The actual speedometer head will be the same compact size as the bicycle one and will be made to clamp onto a 1” round rod in place of a handlebar-mounted to the dashboard. Make your own mounting post or select one of the optional powder-coated mounting brackets using the drop-down box. Model #189 provides a short mounting angle with a screw hole, and model #190 provides an extended angle bracket for mounting under the dash. Both mounts have a 1" diameter mounting post.
