The winch rod slides over to lock on a bolt head, then slides back over to crank up and down.
Some assembly is required. Once assembled, the winch legs do not fully collapse for travel without disassembly of the winch rod. The opposite leg folds into the "A" frame, which is held open by the winch rod.
The legs will spread between 30" and 48", allowing for a 30" grill to hang 30" off the ground.
