Unlike lazy Susan-style swivels that roll on an open ring of ball bearings, these Amish-made swivels turn on an axle-style sealed bearing pivot. Blowing sand and saltwater spray cannot penetrate the ball bearings and cause them to turn rough or seize.

Note the 1000 lb. capacity was determined by direct and side-to-side weight testing using a standard 18” x 18” chair seat base. Larger bases provide greater leverage to the sides; thus, as the base moves farther from the center pivot, the weight capacity decreases. They can be used upside down, with the hub facing up or down, depending on your application. They are designed to press downward on the plates and are not intended for ceiling mounting or upside-down applications that could pull the plates apart against the bearing seals.

Note: Beware of a copycat product marketed online. We are aware that another company is selling a product that looks identical at a much lower price. We have received feedback from customers who tried the swivels; they report that they don't work well for them and have ordered ours instead. They are being made with thinner metal, don't sit level, and are being imported. Our swivels are USA-made by Amish craftsmen and include a 5-year warranty.

The 5-year warranty is limited to the swivel's regular, intended use as a chair swivel. It requires the customer to ship back to the address we provide. The manufacturer will inspect to determine whether abuse has occurred; if not, it will repair or replace the item and ship it back to the customer.
