Description / Tool Battery Adapter DC LED Light Bulb Socket
The innovative Amish have developed a light socket docking station adapter to also use their battery-powered shop tool battery packs to light their off-grid lifestyle. You can also build your own off-grid lighting sources or convert traditional AC light fixtures and lamps or just use these adapter docking stations as a self-standing light.
DC LED light bulbs are much safer to use as they don’t produce the heat of an AC bulb but give off nearly the same lumens at half the wattage of an AC Bulb.
Make a bright off-grid light for chores, or emergency lighting. Power tool battery packs are more reliable than trying to store standard DC cell flashlight batteries and the light brightness on these is nearly 3 times as bright as other battery-powered lighting for near-normal grid-powered AC bulbs.
The molded battery pack docking station works just like it does on a power tool to firmly hold the battery in place in any position. It is more than just a black box with some wiring, it contains electronic circuitry that regulates the voltage and provides automatic shutdown when the battery reaches low power limits.
As most people keep their tool battery packs charged you will likely have the emergency lighting available when needed.
These units do not recharge the batteries, you will still need a battery charging docking station that comes with the power tools and charges the battery the same way that you charge them. The Amish have multiple battery packs and use either solar charging stations or charging while running generators for short time uses. Battery Pack is also not included as pictured.
You will want to have extra battery packs to exchange, as a rule of thumb a 5 Amp Hour pack will provide about 2-1/2 hours of continuous lighting, and a 9 Amp Hour pack will give you up to 5-1/2 hours of continuous lighting. Actual experience may vary based on the age of the battery packs. Low battery protection built in.
