A rebuilt transmission will require the old transmission to be rebuildable and to be shipped to our Amish Maytag repair shop in Pennsylvania. It will need to be double-bagged in heavy-duty trash bags to prevent oil seepage. The box will need to be heavy-duty enough to ship the transmission back to you. We will send you the address to ship the old transmission after the order is placed. You should expect 4-6 weeks for the transmission to be shipped back. New transmissions generally ship within 2-3 weeks.
The Amish shop will carefully inspect all parts for wear and replace it with new parts to give you a good rebuilt transmission.
Both the rebuilt and new transmission carry a one-year warranty.
As the nation moved to automatic spin washing machines into the 1970s the Amish continued to use the Maytag Wringer Washing Machines and still do today. As replacement parts stopped being offered by Maytag the Amish began to manufacture the parts including completely new transmissions.
Cottage Craft Works.com carries almost all the replacement parts for these vintage Maytag Wringer Washing Machines.
